History of the Department of OVPK: 70s

In the 70's the department continued its development. In the period from 1970 to 1975, graduates of the faculty LG Zevin and GG Siguchev were involved in teaching economic disciplines. MM Grigorievskaya continued to work. With the arrival of young teachers, the level of training of engineers-economists has increased.

The development of the faculty was facilitated by the involvement of leading employees of the industry in the educational process on a part-time basis. Among them are Candidates of Sciences FS Savitsky and Yu. V. Podolyuk. An experienced teacher of political economy, a talented educator of youth, Candidate of Economic Sciences TA Voloshin began working as a full-time associate professor.

In 1975 the department was headed by Yu. O. Barnych, associate professor, candidate of economic sciences, who was previously vice-rector and head of the department of economics of UPI. I. Fedorov. The work on the formation of the department, the involvement of highly qualified specialists in the educational process was intensified.

In 1975, a talented graduate of UPI, Candidate of Technical Sciences OF Rozum, was invited to the Department of Technology and Economics of Printing Production. Gradually, candidates of technical sciences AG Vuyets, IT Hetman, VS Labinsky, a graduate of the faculty in 1965 VV Safronova came to work at the department, and on a part-time basis - the head of the planning department of the PC "Soviet Ukraine" ES Dorosh and others.

At that time, the combination of two specialties at the department (technology of printing production and economics and organization of the printing industry) was quite justified: it allowed to rationally organize the work of the department, develop comprehensive research, involve students in scientific work, begin to create much-needed educational literature.

At this stage, the Department of Technology and Economics of Printing has begun to develop new curricula for evening education, preparation and publication of educational and methodological literature. Methodical instructions for course and diploma design for economists, technologists, mechanics, graphs were developed.

The section of economists in close contact with the teachers of the technology section carried out scientific research, primarily on the effectiveness of new technological processes.

The competitiveness of operative polygraphy, the choice of its variants depending on circulation, format, color and other factors were studied. The department began to implement economic contract issues, which expanded its capabilities for the development of facilities, providing the educational process with the necessary equipment and devices.

At the initiative of the Kyiv City Department of the Scientific and Technical Society of Printing and Publishing, headed by Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences OF Rozum, KUNTPEZ was established in Kyiv on a voluntary basis, the head of the department Yu.
