Media business is a modern, dynamic environment, which presents a variety of opportunities and ways to develop management skills. Media management provides economically successful implementation of creative ideas, contacts with interesting personalities of the media world, allows you to navigate in modern technological trends.

What skills will I gain?

Reply:
Main skill: It is reasonable to make management decisions and ensure their implementation in today's media world
To do this, students study:

different (functional) types of management and principles of manager's activity;
methods of research of enterprise activity and economic substantiation of directions of its improvement;
media market research methods and basics of media planning;
processes of preparation and production of media and printing products;
basics of providing the enterprise with material, labor, financial resources;
basics of accounting and auditing of enterprises.
Question:
How is the educational program "Media Management" different from other management programs?

Reply:
The program is formed taking into account the programs in the field of Media Management, offered by educational institutions of Europe and America.
The program is based on the study of basic disciplines of management (management, personnel management, management of international activities, marketing, innovation management, strategic management, etc.), basic economic disciplines and methods of economic research, which allows to perform management functions in enterprises of various sectors.
Unlike other educational programs, much attention is paid to disciplines that consider the peculiarities of the media industry, the principles of media management and organization of media enterprises, modern technologies of media production, the basics of legal regulation of media business. This will allow you to quickly adapt to work in the industry, navigate the features of the modern media business environment, to meet the demanding requirements of employers.

Can I combine study and work?

Reply:
The University has clear requirements for mandatory attendance of classes. However, our senior students find work at specialized enterprises, working in the afternoon, on weekends and thus gain not only knowledge but also practical experience. In this case, the student is expected to have endurance, efficiency and the ability to allocate their time.

Question:
Who will teach me?

Reply:
The training is conducted by teachers with extensive experience in research and teaching. The average age of teachers is 40 years. Teachers regularly undergo internships at enterprises in the industry, maintain working relationships with employees of these enterprises. Our best students are invited by partner companies.

Question:
How will I study?

Reply:
Teachers of the department implement technologies of active learning, in order to practically apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the learning process. The training includes business and role-playing games, trainings, development and presentation of individual and collective projects, performance of calculation and research tasks taking into account dynamic changes in the external environment. We welcome students' use of modern educational web technologies, presentation services and the creation of videos, media.

How long does the training last?

The duration of the bachelor's program in Ukraine is 4 years.

Question:
Can I study abroad on exchange programs?

Reply:
Yes, in KPI them. Igor Sikorsky offers a variety of geography and terms of study abroad (academic mobility programs). It is necessary to carefully follow the proposals, to maintain the appropriate level of knowledge of English (or another foreign language), to be ready to submit documents as soon as possible. Question:
Who can I work for?

Reply:
Graduates can work in the following positions: head of planning and economic, financial, marketing departments of a media / printing company; head of the enterprise; manager of media projects and programs; financial manager, customer service manager (account manager), advertising manager, logistics, supply, sales. Management education is universal and allows you to work as a manager not only in media companies.

Question:
What is the salary level of graduates? Experienced managers?

Reply:
Students and yesterday's graduates are paid according to their skills and experience.

Experienced media managers can claim a higher level of salary - from 25-40 thousand UAH. and above (as of 2020).
